For more than 24 years, David Carico has dedicated his practice to appellate law, and has developed the highly specialized skills necessary to successfully pursue cases and negotiate the intricacies of The Court of Appeal. He has argued cases including: state criminal and civil appeals, federal criminal and civil appeals, as well as cases in family, juvenile and contract law.
The first attorney in Monterey County to be certified by the State Bar of California as a specialist in appellate law, Mr. Carico has argued before the California Supreme Court, in each of the six District Courts of Appeal in California and in seventeen of the nineteen divisions of those courts.
In addition to his credentials in Northern California, David is currently one of only five certified specialists in appellate law practicing in the South Bay region of the Greater Los Angeles area.
Mr. Carico has authored numerous articles on the law and the Appellate Courts for a variety of publications, including the feature article on appellate law in the California Legal Specialization Digest, published by the State Bar of California.
Mr. Carico obtained his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and his B.A. from Stanford University.
Previously affiliated with Carico Law, Mr. Carico has also served as Staff Attorney for all of the Superior Court judges in Monterey County, and as Staff Attorney for Justice Pauline Davis Hanson of the California Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District, in Fresno.
