Southbay Magazine Recognizes CJT’s Business and Employment Practice Group as “Trusted Advisors”

Carico Johnson Toomey’s business and employment practice group was featured alongside Partner Philip Toomey in Southbay Magazine as one of the “Top Advisory Law Firms” in South Bay. Mr. Toomey, who is a 35-year veteran of the legal industry, co-founded the firm in 2007 with Chris Carico. The attorneys represent successful entrepreneurs and closely hold business owners in formation, sale and acquisition, as well as transactional, regulatory and litigation matters that affect their business.

When asked how Mr. Toomey and the practice group distinguish themselves from the competition, Mr. Toomey says, “We seek rational and commonsense solutions that clearly reflect the goals and objectives of our clients.” He describes the firm’s attorneys as business people who just also happen to be lawyers.

Mr. Toomey and his team achieve success for clients by having the difficult conversations with clients upfront. He stresses the importance of trusting the people you do business with, stating that, “Clients want to be treated as individuals, with respect. They want to know what is important to them is also important to us.”

According to Mr. Toomey, the most rewarding part about his work is being a part of the team and an integral part of his community. He has a strong commitment to philanthropy through his pro bono representation of nonprofits, such as Invisible Children, Liberty of North Korea, Child Hope International, Livestrong Foundation and Serene Haven.
